Kunzite is an alternative name for gem-grade spodumene, a lithium-based mineral. Kunzite is normally white, pale yellow, lilac, or purple, which comes from small amounts of manganese in the crystal. Pale green spodumene can also occur from chromium inclusions, and is known as hiddenite.
