Bronzite is a secondary form of enstatite, a magnesium silicate often found alongside igneous and metamorphic rock, where some of the magnesium in enstatite is replaced by iron. Occasionally, this iron forms thin films of iron oxide inside cracks in the stone, leading to a small amount of shimmer or luster when polished.
